Edward Bennie

Eddy (Edward Lee Bennie) passed away in his home on Tuesday, May 17, 2022. He was preceded in death by his two older brothers Bill and Charles Musick, as well as his older sister Marianne Hopkinson of California. His mother, Rosemary Bennie, passed away on December 25, 1991 and was buried 3 days later on Eddy's birthday, December 28th. His only remaining sibling is Lynda Musick, who also resides in Winters. Eddy was 62 years young at the time of his death. He had just been approved for abdominal surgery and after that, it seemed he believed the sky would be the limit. He loved talking more than anything on this earth (and was like the Energizer Bunny in that department), fishing, collecting everything under the sun and working Sudoku puzzles. This was going to be his year to finally get his life back and he felt, for once, he would truly feel whole again. He genuinely worshiped the friends he had and still felt deeply about the ones he had lost. Earl Roach and Donald Prine,(both deceased), and surviving is Johnny Fine, Charles Wenmohs, Jerry and Dana Reisner, Lynn Collins, Brenda and Gene Guinta who he dearly loved for their love for Lynda, and Voss, to name a few. Thank you all for being his "rocks" when health conditions with Lynda were so bad that it was uncertain whether she would make it, but somehow was able to make it back home again. Without your love and encouragement, I am truly afraid we would have all lost him much sooner. His true friends all had a truly deep place in his heart and many of them are now trying their best to help keep his memory alive by sharing their stories about him with me. He was truly thought of as the most "happy go lucky" person in the world. He was also a major, consummate "weather conditions" junkie, I always told him he should have become a meteorologist. The side of Eddy that he let us see was so amazing at times. Please remember his laughter, smile, "fishing tales" that crept over into other places, as well. Know that if he thought of you as a friend, that there is nothing in the world that he would not have tried to say or do to help you. The goodness we all saw in him will truly live on Forever. He truly was the best "little brother" any girl could have ever hoped for as he was so truly devoted. May he rest in Peace now and have God to watch over him. He truly left this world knowing he was loved and he will forever be in our hearts.
